Betrayal

Trust is Blind
Love is Blind
Closes your eyes
Your mind

Sends you gliding
Warm hand guiding
you Into a zone
Of Never Alone

But the blind are
So vulnerable, are
So easy to hit
So betrayal hits
so deep, and spits
In the face of our
Dignity, our
Ability to
Trust, to
Love

It opens our eyes
Yet leaves us in the dark

  1. And yet we can come through the darkness with a stronger heart and better vision----

after what for many of us a torturous, bitter nightmare of a battle to escpae the darkness-- getting out gracefully now that is the hard part

  2. Great writing.

I think that while they may have been betrayed before, they shouldn't lose hope in others that are out there Are trustworthy.

  4. Unfortunately I can relate, but I haven't lost all hope. I can't lose hope because then there would be nothing left.

    Beautifully expressed as usual.

  5. Isn't it amazing?

The ones we love the most are the ones that are most able and capable of hurting us. It makes sense if you think about it deeply.

  9. With great risk comes great oppertunity.

You cannot gain something as valuable as love without great risk. Nothing worthwhile ever came easily.

Yet once your trust has been abused you are damaged for life. You never give it again so easily or completely.

  10. you cannot gain something as valuable as love without great risk, but if you keep taking those risks and trusting and being damaged in an attempt to find love, you may end up losing your chance when the right time comes..

it's true that we grow from all experiences, but some growth has short term benefits and huge long term diasvantages...

    great post david

  11. following on Mookie's comment

to laugh is to risk appearing a fool

to weep is to risk appearing sentimental

to reach out for another is to risk involvement

to place your dreams before the crowd is to risk ridicule

to love is to risk not being loved in return

to go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure

But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he cannot learn to feel, change, grow or love.
Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave. He has forfieted his freedom. Only a person who takes risks is free.

No question..the loss of trust in others is one of the worst damaging effects betrayal has..

" I can't lose hope because then there would be nothing left."
    great line...
You really have to believe in trust and love...its not easy

    AFI...
It really is. Those that love us have the ability to hurt us in such profound ways. Thats why the news is full of people murdering their ex gfs or wives..or commiting suicide etc...

    sarah...
    Thank u

    Prag...
    Thanks..I think so too

    Chaverah...
Yes..and yet a part of us instinctivcely wants to trust another person...

    Thats so true.
I think as a child ..your whole existence is based on trust and love...and we become dependent and it creates a comfort zone that we try to recreate our entire lives.

  14. It boils down to the age old question of is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. For those who have never been in love, most would say that it's better to love and lose. For those who have nursed a broken heart, most will tell you that it's not worth the pain.

  18. Life hurts. And the ones who hurt us the most are the ones we love the most. But yet, if we stop loving, we are the ones who lose the most.
