UNITy

Perfection
Peace
Whole
Shalom=Peace
Shalem=Whole
Perfect
Peace is when everything fits into place.
Everything, everyone belongs.
Has a role.
Plays their role.
Its what the world is moving toward.

It can come 1 of 2 ways.
Either from the top down..or from the bottom up.
The world emanates from God...and expands..
The closer to God..the greater impact on everything underneath..the world.
If someone wants to give his room a blue hue..appearance..they can place a small blue plastic over the light..the source..if they're close to the source...coloring the entire room at once.
Peace between God and his People would automatically bring peace to everything else...
Peace between Husband and Wife...the relationship so close to God...
Peace between fellow Jews
Peace between all humans
Trickle down...and bring the world perfection.
Let’s do our part.
We are pretty close to the source.

On Mondays and Thursdays we say a series of Tefillos after we read the Torah praying for our wellbeing..
All these Tefillos begind with “Yehi Ratzon...” May it be your will...etc..except for the last one which talks about Jews in trouble, in which we plead that they go from darkness to light from trouble to redemption.
The first Belzer Rebbe explains why...
This Tefilla starts with “Acheinu Kol Beis Yisroel” We are all brothers and sisters...to teach us that if we’re Brothers and Sisters and we truly feel that way..then we won’t have to beseech God with..”May it be your will”..

Hashem will help us in the merit of Achdus, Unity..and Peace.

Can I quote Lev Tahor? "Shaaaaaaalooooom, shaaaaaloooooom, shaaaaaaaloooooooom, let there be peace/ Peace in Yerushalyim/ Peace in the Holy Land /Peace on every corner / Let there be peace"

A very "shalem" pem, david-on-the-lake! (u sure you're not freom chicago?)

Unity is something we, as a nation, need to perfect. In this time of crisis we must all stand together as one in order to make it through. We must learn from our past that baseless hatred and strife only lead to our downfall and pull us down. There are so many divisions in society that sometimes it is hard to tell we are all "brothers".

Thanks for the inspiring words.

Nice wurt of the Belzer Rabbi.

If I can add to it. This explains why all the Yehi Ratzon is said by the Chazen whilst Acheinu Kol Beis Yisroel is said by the whole shull together, to drive home the concept of unity…

Very beautiful I like the way you put together unity and peace and love the way the words are practically the same in hebrew with the exception of one letter the vav. Maybe we could say that the vav is the letter of chibur connection and peace connects us to make us shalem, in completion.

Your last line said it well. People think that peace means likeness, similarity. The truth is just the opposite. sholom/shalem means many DIFFERENT pieces fitting together to form a beautiful whole.

Amen to your last line!

I especially enjoyed how you mixed up some psychology into this post making it a very interesting read. I like your method of incorporating that into this.... Your picture is also great - very vivid, just perfect!

David, that was stunning (i have GOT to find another adjective!!! lol)
i especailly liked the idea of the blue colored paper over a light..affecting everything..
someone once told me - regarding shalom bayis.. if the relationship between husband and wife is not good - everything in life becomes awkward..
and if it is good - it reflects on the other parts of life and makes things come together more smoothly

i also liked the idea of husband and wife relationship, affecting world perfection

what i didn't understand was how things are affected from 'bottom up' -
let me know..
thanks

Thank you...lol
The bottom up is more difficult..because it entails..the world reaching perfection as a response to more leg work on the ground...
Just like with the light...if you're right near the bulb..u just need a small piece of blue..and as u get farther and farther you will need a larger and larger blue plastic to color the room...so too..the more removed ur working for piece from the source the more lateral area u need to cover...
Hope that made sense..
:-)

lvnsm..
Thanks so much

Stacey...
glad u enjoyed..

workingema...
yup

Barb...
lets hope that time is soon

An interesting point to note...
I am currently taking an art class in college, and learning how to use chalk to create my drawings. Well, chalk can be smudged, and being that I use black and white chalk to draw, I sometimes smudge them together... and I get gray.

But.. gray is still a color. It's a whole entity in itself.. it's not black or white.. it's gray.

If we take the 'blacks' of the Jewish people, and the 'whites' of the Jewish people, yes, we'll become a little different, look a little different, and that will be because this time, we're all in it together...

And.. we will be one entity.. one nation... in unity.

david that was so beautiful.
to me, the bottom up is like putting the blue paper on your own eyes, and suddenly seeing life around you thru that lens. the bottom up type of peace comes when we start to look at world thru that lens and treating eachother in a godly way the way we would expect it to come from the top down.

Thats a nice way of looking at it..and can bring u personal salvation...

Blogger anonym00kie said...

david, true.. but im not talknig only about personal salvation, im talking about world domination.. uh i mean world peace..
when you look at life thru that blue paper, you start to treat others with the respect a creation of g-d deserves and that leads to unity and THAT leads to peace..
