...I see a village..

I see..
A village..
in the dark..
Forsaken
forsaken hours..
I see houses..
on awkward angles...
on hills..
..and in valleys..
I hear crickets..
And I see windows..
faintly lit...
from somewhere..
And I see faces..
Lonely faces..
red eyes..
tears on cheeks..
I see so many..
So many..

And then
I see this village..
Slowly...
Dissapear..as the sun..
Climbs the horizon..
And cars leave driveways..
and people smile..
and drive..
and drive
and smile..
and talk..
and laugh..yes
Laugh..
And then..
The sun goes down....
the crickets come out..
And the village
..slowly
Reappears..

night time tends to do something to most of us, don't it?

Light. Darkness. Night. Day. Death. Life.
In sickness and in health....
Q: if one gets to the point where he/she dreads darkness (tears, reddened eyes) is it o.k. to have had enough of it? is it wise to say--i know what's there, i want no more of it? or, is it all about surrender, going back, and enduring? putting up no fight.

It's the paradox that lives within us... how does a person celebrate on simchas torah or at someone else's simcha when they are in such financial mess or ill or have a sick child etc.?
How do they shut off the nightime thoughts during the daytime events...only for the nights to become sleepless as the thoughts come back to haunt them.

But still, for their, or another person's daylight, they are ready to celebrate.

its quite hard to fathom.

My question is, when the people smile, drive, talk, laugh...is that considered fake? Does the hidden nighttime pain undermine the reality of the rest of the less painful moments...?

yes...for the lonely ones..especially..

I'm not sure tears are to be dreaded...tears are the outcome of underlying emotions..feelings and loneliness and being overwhelmed..
Its those causes that are to be dreaded..ignoring them..only works for so long..

I know..
I wonder the same thing sometimes..Truly remarkable..

cool song..thanks

corner point..
oh no..Of course its not fake.
Humans are complicated..we are capable of layering ourselves with different emotions...

I find the night time hits people hardest because the rest of the day people are to busy to think. Darkness offers the security that no one can see us and as you lay curled up you can but think till sleep transcends.

yes. i agree wholeheartedly that tears and grief and such serve a purpose. of course. but, the darkness, knowing it and what it contains, does it make it o.k. to not what to revisit it?
like, do you think life is like a washing machine and you have to keep going through some cycles...but maybe there comes an allotted turning point where you don't have to submit, so, to the process?
