You know you're in Lakewood too long when....
.
You park your car at a service area and a silver Honda Odyssey parks next to you and a middle class black family comes out....and your 5 year old son tugs your sleeve and whispers.."Tatty..why are there goyim in a yiddishe car...?"
Can't make it up..

LOL!
For real?
That's funny and sad at the same time.
Hysterical!

yitzchak ariel..
hence the title
I'm grinning here.
No doubt there are many pockets within some of the larger metropolitan areas (Toronto included) where this scene could take place. But it's definitely understandable in Lakewood.
i get those kinds of comments from my kids to. my 3 year old son pointed to a sports car, and says - goy car!
then I asked him what's a yid car, and he pointed to a minivan.
i asked him which one he wants and he proudly said A GOy Car!!
anyway, stereotypes exist for a reason. even your five year old recognizes that.
