Genesis

.

I envy him..
..him
the old man
with the beautiful
...white beard
and eyes
..as he hums
and intones...the
ageless words
Bereishis Bara...In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...
and it was evening
...and it was morning
Day One
and on the second day
....and on the third
his mind awash
in imagery..and wonder
completely unburdened
....by science
and I looked down
and there...the words
danced before my eyes
Gods words
Gods world
completely unencumbered
by science..and speculation
where the absurd
....is not even a word
(how can it possibly be?)
for whatever actually
..did happen
is completely irrelevant
because...you see
this how God WANTS me
to see....creation
and that's all
..that's relevant
and I pick up his tune
...and let the words
take me there
..and on the fourth day
God created the heavenly...

Why do I feel there's a line missing? Or is it the just the word "chocolate"?

I just felt that "heavenly" cannot stand on it's own.

Why is this sad?
Those that are exposed to science..cannot help but feel a bit uncomfortable learning these portions.
But those unencumbered by this..can learn so sweetly, like it's been learned for thousands of years. That is to be envied.
But then the realization that Torah is not a science book nor is it a history book. If one is to use Cartesian logic and break it down to what we absolutely know as true..it would be that..no matter what actually happened..This is how God wants us to read and view the narrative.
