OK, my 2 cents. Nice arrangement for that tune. i felt it complimented it nicely. However, (uh oh) I think the tune is not very creative. didn't feel a hook or any interesting ideas. Good first try tho. Keep at it. You sound very good. Oh also.. enough with the reverb, I think at some point it takes away from the simple elegance of your voice. You don't need all that back fill and echo, we hear you loud and clear.
Thanks for the honest critique.. No uh ohs...I'm glad you're honest. When you say reverb/back fill? do you mean the choir of clones at the end of the song? or the reverb during the entire song? Thanks!
Look, you have a nice voice, good range and what seems to be the ability to connect with a song. You don't need all that secondary echo throughout the entire song.
I was hoping at some point to just hear YOUR voice. (as an aside, I was imagining you sitting with that new program and saying.. ok, how many effects can i use?) with your voice, less is more, much more.
The voice is recorded in an environment with no acoustics at all..just dead space. So you have to add some reverb. It's like the difference between hearing an opera singer Carnegie Hall or a small closet. I guess the right balance is whats needed..thats usually the mixers job.
