picking blueberries
the other day..
I took my 8 year old daughter..
..and 5 year old son..into
the pine scented woods..
sending invisible squirrels
and chipmunks scurrying...
into the crunchy leaves..
as our eyes look around..
for bushes full of ripe..round
blueberries....
to gleefully pick
and bring home..
but..as we fill our baskets..
unbeknownst to them...
I replace each empty space..
where a blue berry once dangled..
with a small round ripe..memory..
so that..for the rest of their lives..
they can always close their eyes..
and...find this path...
and smile..as they pick them..
one by one..

It is so true , each such moment spent with our kids is a treasure that we give them . It surely doesnt end with the outing itself , it is warm and fun memories that they will carry with them forever.
David thanks for reminding me of the little things in life that make a big difference.
Take pictures...
Nothing like a photograph to bring bring back old forgotten memories.
