Another Day...Another Dream Dies...

Kol Isha alert..lol
From old blog...

A child is born
The world fills with bubbles
Dreams...
Opportunities
Endless possibilities

A 10 year old dreaming
Awed by the bubbles that fill
The Air
Your Dreams
Floating higher...still

Each bubble a dream

Doctor
Rebbe
Baseball player
Lawyer
Rosh Yeshiva
Policeman
Painter
Rich guy
Singer
Kiruv
Professor

As the days pass
The hours disappear
Another week
Another year
The bubbles slowly
Pop
Slowly
Pop
One by one
Too late to become this
Too late to learn that
Pop
Pop

And the years go by...
And you do And you try
Until you grow old and tired
Weak and retired
And you lay
Suspended
On your hammock
Under your favorite oak tree
You look up and you see
A few bubbles float by
In the clear blue sky

You smile and you sigh
So content
Serene
Lazily watching the last bubble fly

The sum
Of what you’ve become

And as your eyes close
The sky suddenly fills anew
With millions of bubbles
As a new child...is born

I was about to rebuke you on the depressing note of this post when i reached the last line...

It's never too late to blow new bubbles...

(and i really dislike the first woman's voice... dunno why it irritates me...)

Thank u

rebuke away...
Lets be realistic here..we are very much confined by our age, maturity and choices...
At age 35 I'm not becoming a baseball player anymore...and at age 40 you forget about becoming a ballerina...
If you become more frum..there goes your Broadway career...and at age 25 being a fireman is not as exciting as it looked when you were 8..
So yes...the bubbles keep popping..until..theres just you..and what you've become..

btw..theres one woman and one boy singing there..and that "first woman" is Charlotte Church

oh, david, i didn't say you can keep the old bubbles. just said you can always blow NEW ones... they don't have to be the same as when you were younger... only never stop dreaming...

I thought the boy sounded like a girl - that's why i said first woman - and i have no idea who charlotte church is... and i don't like her voice... i'm allowed to have an opinion, ain't i?
