((shudder))....say it again...

Thundering speech..
Shudder
Fire n brimstone

This is the third year
At this shiur
But
I look around
And lo and behold
Everyones the same
Not one persons changed
So....why?

I look up at these monster roller coasters..
Bungee jumpers..
In amazement..
At people..
Shrieking..and paying
....why?

I’m beginning to wonder..if our souls like thrills
As much as our bodies...
Death defying..
Shudder inducing..
Is a terrifying mashal..the equivalent
Of a 300 foot vertical drop?
Is reading about a horrific tragedy..
Like a death defying..bungee jump?

Six Flags Rabbi Waxman..anyone?

.

I LOVE Rabbi Waxman. Say hi from me. Of course, he won't know who I am, but tell him I went to the Friday morning shiur at Ricky's. The one of 2 women. He'll get it.

but how do you know not one person changed.

I never went to his shiur. But as i've been "growing" in Torah more I noticed alot of change in me as far as my motivation for doing the exact same thing I've always done before. Or, maybe they have more kavana on something (even one mitzvah) that they do now......just maybe....

It makes me think of a balloon. When I initially blow it, boy its hard! It takes twice the amount of breath to blow it.

When the air comes out and I blow it again, its much much easier for the balloon to accept the new shape w/air inside.

If this audience hears the message long enough, it sinks and they become more succeptable to internalizing it.

Are people like the fabric lycra? (I heard that if you wear garments with lycra, eventually, it 'remembers' your shape and take on that form. like a slow 'spandex' lol)

great ride -both the utube and the words...but sad. I've never been much for roller coasters, but I do admit thant sometimes I feel like I'm on a spiritual coaster -I went slow at first, then flew up to the sky, came crashing down again, and now all these twist and turns...at this point, I'm in such a daze from it all, I don't know which direction I'm going in. And Rosh Hashana is practically here. And that's scarier than the most terrible of roller coasters, in my opinion.
