fickle world of politics and public relations...

Scene in Pastor Wrights study...

Wife: Hey honey what are you writing there?

Jeremiah: Oh Its Sundays sermon...

Wife: and..what’s that other page?

Jeremiah: Oh that? It’s the apology letter that will follow a few days later...

I think if Hitler were alive today he’d have no problem going back into politics..
Here’s what a public statement of his might look like..

“There are no excuses for my actions..I take full responsibility. I realize I have anger issues that I have to deal with. I also have tolerance issues that I have to face and have taken steps to work on my excesses. I have requested to meet with members of the (cringe) Jewish community as well as Gypsies, Gays and other undesirables..I mean diverse people..
I ask that you respect my privacy at this time.
I also disavow and distance myself from some statements and speeches made by my former friend Joseph Goebbels...”

Azure whispers...
.......pure waters
My thirsty soul
A million brushstrokes..
forming coloful..nooks..
as I walk..and explore..
her mystical lore..
breathing her cool air
In the moonlit evening, clear
as a mountain view..
..of magical valleys..
And in her breeze..
I hear the hum..
the bongo drum...
In the distance...
I will leave..soon..
but my soul has been
by your brushstrokes... blue...
Mmm I feel connected the millions of souls
that have called this..
City on a Mountain

The Hidden World

Just below the rippling surface
There is a hidden..
Hidden world..
forbidden words..
Are revealed..
It is there..that..
(Tr)anq(uth)ility resides..
and..the world slides..
Into true existence...
And...rises..back to..its
familar form...
..on which familiar...
ants scurry about..
On bLinKinG computer screens
Entirely unaware..
of the (chip..)
deep within..
Its where you'll find us

Thing vs Action based Happiness

Ahh that elusive giddy goal of mankind.
More cliches have been written about happiness and its pursuit than about any other human condition.

I’ve observed two primary causes of happiness.

1. Thing based happiness

2. Action based happiness

Most people today are primed to the first method of happiness, which basically defines happiness by how much you have or acquire. If one desires something and then gets it, he or she feels happy, at least temporarily.

The second source of happiness is defined by action. By the joy of doing something enjoyable or creating something original.
Someone in the first group would find happiness in a new chandelier while someone in the second group would find hapiness painting a mural onto a wall.
The obvious benefit to the action based happiness is that one can find happiness in every situation. Even if you have no money, you can find joy in doing what you enjoy.
So teach your children a hobby, you’ll be bestowing on them the gift of happiness forever.

In past days if you wanted something you usually had to create it somehow.
For instance if you wanted a dress you had to get fabric and sew it into a dress.
Most of the food we ate had to be planted or milked by hand.
If you wanted something recorded for memory, you had to take out a sketch book and pencil and draw it yourself.
If you wanted music, you went to the parlor and sat down to the piano.
Even thing based happiness was somewhat action based...

In spirituality the same 2 sources of happiness exist.
Those that need tangible things to be spiritually satisfied as opposed to action.
Theres a yiddish saying “A Yid darf tien...nisht oiftien” A person has to do..not accomplish.
Accomplishing is Gods realm.
Those accustomed to this way of thinking will find joy in all circumstances for no matter how poor one finds oneself spiritually and no matter how low one has fallen you’re never further than a moment away from doing something good.
And so we can latch onto that and find solace and happiness in the act....

It's 5:00....please open the dooors

An alarming study shows that office workers in the United waste 30-40% of their time at their desks.

“According to a new survey by America Online and, the average worker admits to frittering away 2.09 hours per 8-hour workday, not including lunch and scheduled break-time. “
That's right..and that's how much they admit to wasting..

Top Time-Wasting Activities (%)

1 Surfing Internet (personal use) 44.7%
2 Socializing with co-workers 23.4%
3 Conducting personal business 6.8%
4 Spacing out 3.9%
5 Running errands off-premises 3.1%
6 Making personal phone calls 2.3%
7 Applying for other jobs 1.3%
8 Planning personal events 1.0%
9 Arriving late / Leaving early 1.0%
10 Other 12.5%

Contrasting that, anyone who has ever taken a ride in a NY elevator would notice how impatientt people are.

The intensity in the tsks every time it stops on a floor.

A stranger who spends his day in an elevator would come out convinced that Americans are a people that do not waste an extra second.

So how about we expand our elevators and outfit them with workstations?

A small glimpse into the future..

May, 2025

Driving down a lonely stretch of highway the radio keeping me company..

In other news the last remaining US airline UniteDeltanentalWestBlue Airlines will declare bankruptcy tomorrow morning. This comes despite attempts to rescue the airline which received a customer approval rating of just 3% last week. The lock-down will strand 4 million passengers Atlantas Hartsfield Airport alone. BankofAmericaChaseWaChoviaMu will try to come up with another rescue plan tomorrow.

On the campaign trail, Chelsea Clinton reiterated her promise to start pulling troops out of Iraq by 2030

A voice suddenly pops up “Low Ethanol..please refill immediately”.

Just then, I passed over the crest of a hill and in the distance a familiar red and yellow DelMonte sign beckons.
